We enjoyed soup dumpling with beef and also one kind with a fish and it was really really good! The place was kinda small but still very cozy and the stuff was very friendly even though they didn’t spoke much. We went there specifically for the soup dumpling and it was delicious!

Great, inexpensive Shanghai food. After walking past the long line at Joe's Shanghai, my boss & I kept walking a few doors down to this place. Seeing an "A" from the Health Department, he was satisfied. Reviewing the menu in the window, I was eager. Decor is simple with 2 & 4 table seating. There is a family-style table in the rear of the dining room for a larger group.

After scanning the menu, boss played it safe & ordered chicken and broccoli, while I went for the eggplant with pork bits in hot pot and an order of juicy pork dumplings to share. The dumplings were 8 delicate & tasty morsels. I really can't comment on companion's dish, as I was afraid I'd lose a hand if I tried to steal a taste. I did notice that the chicken was thinly sized white meat with a healthy dose of veggie in a sauce that smelled wonderful. My eggplant was delicious, and I loved that it was served in an iron pot, so the last bite was as hot as the first. Not quite full, boss asked have some of my dish, and seemed to be taken by the slightly spicy pork sauce as I was. As we ate our lunch, more people arrived, mostly Oriental families (a positive sign in my book). With tea, the total came to under $40 T&T included.

Service is prompt and not overbearing. Don't expect a full bar, but there is enough to satisfy the casual drinker. Bathroom was incredibly clean (a HUGELY positive sign).

Will be returning to Manhattan for Columbus Day weekend, and I'm begging my companion that we stop by here to try out the rest of dimsum menu.
